Sealcoating

Every year we are faced with repairs caused by the harsh climate in the high sierra. Sealcoating seals the asphalt pavement, preventing the oxidation and erosion of the top layer of asphalt. Sealcoating replaces fine particles lost from the asphalt surface due to snow removal, use, wear and oxidation. Sealing your asphalt costs pennies a square foot compared to the dollars needed to repair or replace damaged asphalt. Sealing asphalt should be done every 2-4 years to maintain elasticity and slow the oxidation process that causes asphalt to crack.

Crack Sealing

Crack Sealing is an essential element of any maintenance program. “The Federal Highway Administration have determined that not sealing cracks threatens the entire pavement structure as water penetrates weakening the pavement and the base and eventually the subbase.” (Pavement Maintenance and Reconstruction, February 2007, Vol 22 #2)
